To celebrate the International Day of Democracy, Fair Vote Vancouver and Vancouver Public Library are sponsoring a panel discussion on electoral reform.
Changing how we vote has become a crucial election issue this year as the NDP, the Liberal Party, and the Green Party have all promised to reform Canada's electoral system. This event brings together representatives from a number of community organizations to share their thoughts on the importance of electoral reform for citizen engagement, environmental policy, and democracy.
Featuring the following panellists:
Paul Kershaw - Generation Squeeze
Grace Lore - Equal Voice
Lyndsay Poaps - Leadnow
David Moscrop - Fair Vote Vancouver
Michael Markwick - Metrovan Alliance
Julie Van de Valk - UBCC350.org
The event will be moderated by Stuart Parker (http://movementforvoterequality.ca/).
Doors open at 6:30! Event is in the Alice MacKay room (downstairs). Event is free, all are welcome!
